Ran just under .25 on the treadmill at 6:40 pace. It's really fast. I ran two other fast laps, but not nearly as fast as that. I know that I have to build up to speed, but I want to keep trying some laps at the target pace or above so that my legs will know what fast means. No, I don't have a garmin yet. I am sure that once I start taking this routine out on the road I will need one, but for now, I've been measuring my running by laps on the treadmill (it diagrams 1/4 mile laps as you run) or by a known and measured street trail in front of my house. One of the things that I like about trying to go really fast for just one lap is that even though it's hard, the faster I go, the quicker the hard run is over. |
